Hello! My name in Andrée-Anne Morrissey (pronouns: she/her). I am a bilingual (French/English) Speech-Language Pathologist, registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO). I am also the owner of Little Mouths. I offer assessment and treatment options for children of all ages. I was recently diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which I found has helped me better understand my clients who are neurodivergent. I do my best to accommodate for sensory needs in my sessions to make sure the children are comfortable, regulated, and ready to learn!

About me

My story
I graduated with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Dalhousie University. I have been practicing since September 2013. I started my speech journey in Thunder Bay, Ontario, working primarily with adults and the elderly with swallowing difficulties. While the work was certainly rewarding, I wanted to find something a little closer to my family, who lives in Eastern Ontario. In December 2014, I moved to Sudbury, Ontario, and began a contract working with children at Wordplay/Jeux de Mots Preschool Speech and Language Services. My contract with them lasted approximately one year and a half. After this, I worked for three years at the NeoKids Children's Treatment Centre. It was during this time that I had the opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. I worked closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, the Social Worker, the Augmentative and Alternative Communication Clinic, the Infant and Child Development Workers, and the Specialized Classrooms. Having loved my time working in such a collaborative environment, I was thrilled when I was able to continue working with a Children's Treatment Centre, this time in St. Catharines, Ontario, where I worked for 6 years. Here, I primarily worked in Preschool Speech and Language Services.
I have experience working with:
Autism
Speech:
Phonological delays, articulation difficulties, motor speech difficulties, Apraxia
Language: Expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language delays
Fluency
Stuttering
Voice
What is my approach?
I prefer to use a family-centred approach when working with clients, and encourage family members and caregivers to participate in sessions. I've always been a curious person and I try to foster an environment where caregivers feel comfortable asking questions to deepen their own knowledge of what we are doing and why.
